The flash photography assignment had two photographs we had to submit. One had to be a fill flash that was taken during the day or in a location that required the flash but where one would probably not immediately notice that a flash went off. The second photograph for this assignment was a creative flash. The use of strobe lights, flashlights, and laser pointers were allowed. My photographs tend to be more conservative and more “traditional” photographs.
This second photograph was really fun to capture. I went up the Mill Creek Canyon and went up to one of my favorite trails and set the camera up on a tripod and walked down the path and triggered my strobe flash that I had in my hand. The camera was in bulb mode and ended up having about a minute exposure which helped capture the stars, clouds and the natural lights.
