Utah Symphony at Deer Valley. Friday night we decided to drive up to Deer Valley and see the Utah Symphony perform many fantastic pieces of music. It is part of the Deer Valley Music Festival that they hold every summer. The weather was perfect with large clouds and a cool breeze during the performance. Off in the distance you could watch the lightning storms. We brought a cooler with a few bottles of wine and a small selection of different cheeses.
These are the amazing pieces that were performed:
- Overture to Fuillaume Tell (“William Tell”) – Gioacnino Rossini
- La Primavera No. 1 from The Four Seasons – Antonio Vivaldi
- Selections for Ochestra from Porgy & Bess – George Gershwin/Bennett
- The Ride of the Valkyries from Die Walkure – Richard Wagner/Hutchenrugter
- Symphony No. 5 in C Minor – Ludwig Van Beethoven
- Finlandia – Jean Sibelius
- Kanon in D – Johann Pachelbel
- Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah
- 1812 Overture Solennelle – Piotr Ilych Tchaikovsky
There is a lot more information at the festival’s website www.deervalleymusicfestival.com or the Utah Symphony’s wesbite www.utahsymphony.org.
I managed to take a few pictures with my iPhone and this happens to be one of the best photographs that I have ever taken on my iPhone. Enjoy.
