Downtown Panoramic

Downtown Panoramic. One of the reasons why I decided to take Art 3090 was to force myself to get out and take photographs. Each week we have a different assignment to capture something using techniques that I don’t normally use or have much proficiency. Our last assignment was to do a photo-merge or panoramic image using at least five different photographs and then using those same images create a photo-montage using a dada inspired presentation. My panoramic was taken on top of the Regent Street Parking Garage facing south toward the Gallavan Center. It was late afternoon after a day of rain and lots of clouds. My second photograph was inspired by the Downtown Rising theme that is used to describe the construction and improvements to Salt Lake City’s downtown. Over the last few years I have been able to capture various buildings and included them in my photo-montage. Enjoy.

Winter at Red Butte Garden

Winter at Red Butte Garden. I signed up for photography class this semester to help me improve my photography skills and to help force me to get out and take more pictures. There are many tool and techniques that I have yet to learn and master which is part of the reason why I am taking this class. These are a few pictures that I took earlier today while I was visiting Red Butte Gardens. The garden is open year round and is probably one of my favorite places to photograph. Please feel free to leave a comment or critique. Enjoy.
